Orphan Foals
We are one of the only studs in the UK who can provide specialist hand rearing of orphan foals, protecting your investments in breeding programmes. If the unthinkable happens we are here to help you through.
Wendy; who has presented a working lecture at Rossdale's Veterinary Hospital on fostering and hand-rearing of orphans; is currently working on her first book demonstrating how the hand rearing of foals can be truly successful both physically and psychologically.
Middleton Stud has close links with and can provide experienced foster mares from 'Newmarket foster mare company'.
Mares and foals
We take walk-in mares and permanent boarders. We offer the full range of stud facilities, right from foaling down, to getting your mare back in foal. We also foal down problem mares and mare's who have previously rejected their foals.
Our vet is on call 24/7 and we are only a 2 minute drive from Rossdales Equine Hospital, so if there are any problems we don't have far to go.
All our foals are handled from the day they are born making life a lot easier for everyone when they are older! We also offer weaning and the boarding of weanlings and yearlings.
We cater for A.I. Mares and have the facilities to deal with fresh, frozen and or chilled semen.
Racing Services
We take in resting racehorses, Colts and Fillies are welcome for happy holidays and rest.
One of our regular customers calls us 'the chill-out farm'.
We have an all weather lunge ring and use of a covered horse walker if needed. If you have a horse, colt or filly, that needs company, we have plenty of choice with our own horses, as they are very good as companions.
Sales preparation
We have sold horses at Tattersalls and Doncaster. Our aim is to bring out the best in your horse and to achieve the best possible price for you.
We will prepare all horses from foals to mares to horses out of training for the sales and orgaise transportation.
